FAQ
Questions, gently answered.
A few of the things people most often ask. If your question isn't here, please just get in touch — I'm happy to talk it through.
What exactly is a celebrant?+
A celebrant is a trained professional who writes and leads bespoke ceremonies for the moments that matter. Unlike a registrar, I'm not bound by a script — the ceremony is written entirely around you.
Is a celebrant-led wedding legal?+
In England and Wales a celebrant-led wedding isn't itself legally binding. Most couples handle the legal formalities at their local registry office in a brief appointment, then celebrate the wedding they've always wanted with me — anywhere, on any day.
Where can the ceremony take place?+
Anywhere you like. Gardens, barns, woodlands, hotels, village halls, your living room, a mountaintop. If it's meaningful to you, we can hold a ceremony there.
How far do you travel?+
I'm based in South Bucks and can travel to nearby areas. Please get in touch to discuss your ceremony's location.
Can your work sit alongside a faith-based ceremony?+
Yes. I'm not a religiously trained celebrant, but I'm happy to work alongside a priest or other faith leader when a service includes religious elements.
How much does it cost?+
Every ceremony is different, so I offer bespoke pricing after a short chat. Fees reflect the type of ceremony, travel and how much of the day I'm involved in.
How far ahead should I book?+
For weddings and namings, six to twelve months is common — though I can often help at shorter notice. For funerals I always try to accommodate short timelines.
