Naming Ceremonies

Welcoming a new little one into the world.

A naming ceremony is a beautiful way to celebrate your child, name their supporting adults and gather everyone who loves them — with no religious requirements and complete freedom to make it yours.

A ceremony for any family

Naming ceremonies aren't just for babies. They can celebrate toddlers, older children, adopted family members and adults choosing a new name. Whatever your family looks like, there's a way to celebrate it.

  • Promises from parents, guardians and supporting adults
  • Guide-parents / godparents (with any name you prefer)
  • Readings and words from siblings, grandparents and friends

Where & when

At home in the garden, in a village hall, in the woods, at your favourite pub — anywhere you'd like to gather. Ceremonies typically last 20–30 minutes and sit comfortably at the start of a longer celebration.
